A championship-winning team
Affalterbach, Germany
More DTM championships than any other team in the series history, and behind some of the most exciting automobiles to come out of southern Germany.
For over two years, the Airion team has worked to find engineering solutions that hold to the restrained design parameters we set for ourselves. The goal was as simple as it was seemingly unattainable: keep the best, and evolve the rest.
Our Porsche 993-based Airion Program is defined by its process, more so than any single feature or specification. We do not believe that more power, more grip or more aero inevitably equate to more driving enjoyment. Equally, recalling iconic design elements from the past does not necessarily add to the overall product substance. We do believe that an exceptional car is the outcome of a rigorous and passionate process of inquiry. We ask what future we could have had in 1998, and we built that future for today.
The focus was singular from the outset: reduce weight, improve safety and torsional rigidity, and be deliberate in any update to the underlying components. Where technology plays a role, it is never there to be front and center. Every advancement is embedded in a cogent whole, so that the experience stays pure, analog and intentional.
A restomod like no other.
Engineered, not restored.
